With spring around the corner we are enjoying having the children coming to Shul on Shabbos. We just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that a Shul is first and foremost a place for tefillah. With that in mind we would like to stress the importance of having the children understand that they must not disturb the davening. The constant running in and out and up and down the steps and running in the hallway makes it very hard to concentrate on our tefilos. In order to keep the children entertained we have invested in new toys for the children to play with, along side the babysitters downstairs. There will also be a raffle this week with prizes for whoever behaves nicely. Please remind the children that playing quietly in the basement during davening is very important. Also children who are too young to understand the importance of proper behavior in Shul and do not stay downstairs with the babysitters should rather not come to Shul until kiddush time. ח,ז אמת המים שהיא עוברת בחצר–אין ממלאין ממנה בשבת, אלא אם כן עשו לה מחיצה גבוהה עשרה טפחים בכניסה וביציאה. אמר רבי יהודה, מעשה באמה של אביל, שהיו ממלאין ממנה בשבת על פי זקנים; אמרו לו, מפני שלא היה בה כשיעור.

ח,ב כמה הוא שיעורו, כמזון שתי סעודות לכל אחד ואחד. מזונו לחול, אבל לא לשבת, דברי רבי מאיר; רבי יהודה אומר, לשבת אבל לא לחול. אלו ואלו מתכוונין להקל. רבי יוחנן בן ברוקה אומר, מכיכר בפונדיון ומארבע סאין בסלע. רבי שמעון אומר, משתי ידות לכיכר ומשלוש לקב. חצייה לבית המנוגע, וחצי חצייה לפסול את הגווייה.

ח,ג אנשי חצר ששכחו ולא עירבו–כל שגבוה עשרה טפחים, למרפסת; פחות מכן, לחצר. חולית הבור והסלע–שהן גבוהין עשרה טפחים, למרפסת; פחות מכן, לחצר. במה דברים אמורים, בסמוכה; אבל במופלגת–אפילו היא גבוהה עשרה טפחים, לחצר. איזו היא סמוכה, כל שאינה רחוקה ארבעה טפחים.

ז,יא נותן אדם מעה לחנווני או לנחתום, כדי שיזכה לו בעירוב, דברי רבי אליעזר; וחכמים אומרים, לא זכו לו מעותיו. ומודים בשאר כל האדם, שזכו לו מעותיו, מפני שאין מערבין לו לאדם, אלא לדעתו. אמר רבי יהודה, במה דברים אמורים, בעירובי תחומין; אבל בעירובי חצרות, מערבין לדעתו ושלא לדעתו, לפי שזכין לו לאדם שלא בפניו, ואין חבין לו אלא בפניו.

ח,א כיצד משתתפין בתחומין: מניח את החבית ואומר, הרי זו לכל בני עירי, לכל מי שילך לבית האבל, או לבית המשתה. כל מי שקיבל עליו מבעוד יום, מותר; משחשיכה–אסור, שאין מערבין משתחשך.
